CEMIX ENVIROCRETE™
By replacing natural aggregate with demolition concrete waste materials and incorporating a by-product of the power industry, we have developed a product with significantly less impact on the environment without compromising performance.
Key attributes are:
• Waste minimisation reduces landfill volume
• For every 1000 tonnes of Envirocrete, 500 tonnes of recycled product is consumed
• Less quarrying conserves non-renewable natural aggregate resources
Envirocrete contains Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA), sand, fly ash (post manufacturing by-product) and cement.
The product constitution provides comprehensive strength properties, and quality suitable for general concrete construction.
The product contains 50% recycled materials.
CLARIFICATION: Other than the fact that the contents of the Envirocrete bag contains 50% recycled material, the environmental impact of this product is no way different from standard concrete containing no recycled material. Due care needs to be taken in disposing unused product and it should not enter our waterways which adversely affect our environement.
Proper disposal of any leftover product should be done as per local council guidelines and due
care needs to be taken to keep it out of the sewers and stormwater system.
