Two and a half years ago to counter the local gang culture ex-constable Glen Green founded the foundation by gaining support and sponsorship from local businesses, councils and other organisations. He started a three on three basketball tournament for youth at risk in his community of Mount Roskill. Since then, There’s A Better Way has teamed up with the international Basketball Federation and sent a team of youth at risk earlier this year to compete in the three on three world championships in Russia. His foundation, which started in Mt Roskill, has spread to 11 national hubs, their YouTube clip has received an impressive 80,000 views and Glen Green has received over 300 phone calls from communities hoping for this program to be implemented in their local communities.
