RELEASE AGENT

Cemix A.P.R.A. is an amber-coloured, chemical release agent that reacts with cement to create a smooth, easy-to-release surface. Designed to break the bond between freshly cast concrete and formwork, it simplifies removal and protects your formwork and tools. Ideal for both DIY builders and trade professionals, A.P.R.A. helps you achieve clean, high-quality concrete finishes with less effort.

TYPICAL USES:

Concrete garden edging, pavers or decorative blocks
Driveway slabs, patios, and walkways
Concrete steps, curbs, and retaining walls
Small structural pours like foundations, columns and lintels
Timber, plywood, steel or plastic formwork, used in domestic or small‑scale builds
Tools, shuttering, machinery, handling equipment — helps prevent buildup during casting

COVERAGE:

Type of formwork coverage per litre of product:

• Steel: 30m2 to 60m²

• Smooth Plywood: 20m2 to 40m²

• Rough Sawn Timber: 15m2 to 25m²

PREPARATION:

The substrate should be free of dust, grease, wax, oil, dirt, loose plaster, laitance, curing compounds, paint and all other friable materials and contaminants likely to prevent the adhesive bonding.

The substrate must be dry.

MIXING:

Ready to use. No mixing required.

APPLICATION:

1. Shake / stir before use.

2. Apply a thin coat of product by brush or spayer onto the casting face, back and sides, before each pour or cast of concrete.

Pouring can take place immediately after product application or within 24 hours.

CLEANING:

Clean tools with water immediately after use.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE:

Up to 12 months when stored in the original, unopened packaging, in a dry place at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.
