CEMIX CARPET ADHESIVE is a ready to use, adhesive which is specifically formulated for the installation of commercial and domestic carpet floor coverings. It has high initial grab and is ideal for bonding carpets to a variety of substrates. It is non-flammable, low odour, eco-friendly, water based formulation which is easy to apply. It contains an anti microbial.
The substrate should be free of dust, grease, wax, oil, dirt, loose plaster, laitance, curing compounds, paint and all other friable materials and contaminants likely to prevent the adhesive from bonding. New concrete should be left with a wood float finish and sufficiently aged for a minimum of 28 days. Shiny smooth surfaces on old concrete should be acid etched or scabbled. Then use Cemix cement screeds/floor levelers/renders and they must be allowed to cure for a minimum of 7 days. All substrates should be structurally sound, securely fastened and properly supported to eliminate any movement, which may cause cracking. It is recommended to seal/prime surfaces.
Prime using CEMIX WALL & FLOOR PRIMER undiluted using a roller or a brush and wait until it is tacky before applying this adhesive. Surfaces treated with waterproof membranes or some curing agents should be skimmed with a minimum of 3mm of a proprietary cementitious underlayment according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
PLEASE ENSURE THERE IS NO RISING DAMP AS THIS WILL LEAD TO DELAMINATION.

No mixing required. Just stir and use straight from the container.
Spread adhesive with a notched trowel. Adhesive must be allowed to tack-up before floor covering is lowered. Tack-up time will depend upon atmospheric conditions and can be determined by placing a small piece of floor covering into the adhesive. When the floor covering is pulled away, strings of adhesive should be apparent. If no tack or holding power has developed, wait five minutes re-checking every few minutes thereafter. Once the floor covering has been laid, they must NOT be trafficked upon or disturbed for a minimum of 24 hours at 20˚C. Allow 48 hours if temperatures fall below 20˚C or fixing over non porous substrates.
Clean all tools with water & brush immediately after use.
