PLASTICISERS
ROOF & GUTTER REPAIR TAPE .jpg

Cemix Cemplus enhances cement-based mortars and plasters by acting as both a high-performance plasticiser and an air-entraining additive. This combination improves flow and workability, making your mix easier to apply, while also reducing brittleness and shrinkage cracking. Because it’s non-staining and freeze-resistant, Cemplus is especially suitable for exterior applications, helping mortar resist moisture, absorb less water and minimise efflorescence. By using Cemplus, you can simplify your mix design—there’s often no need to add hydrated lime for air entrainment, which makes the mixing process cleaner and more cost-effective.

TYPICAL USES:

  • Exterior rendering: Use in cement plaster mixes for walls, façades or masonry surfaces.

  • Mortar work: Ideal for brick, block or stone masonry where enhanced adhesion and flexibility are needed.

  • Repair mortars: When patching or repairing outdoor surfaces, Cemplus helps produce a more durable, crack-resistant finish.

  • Cold-climate construction: Its freeze-resistant properties maintain performance even in colder conditions.

  • Durability-focused projects: Use where minimising water absorption and reducing efflorescence (salt bloom) is important over time.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Improved Workability: Makes mortar and plaster easier to mix and apply.

  • Enhanced Bond Strength: Helps cementitious mixes adhere better to substrates.

  • Reduced Cracking: Minimises shrinkage-related cracks by acting as an air-entraining agent.

  • Lower Water Absorption: Helps cured mortar absorb less moisture, improving longevity.

  • Efflorescence Control: Reduces the risk of salt deposits forming on the surface.

  • Freeze-Resistant: Suitable for external use, including in colder climates.

DOSAGE:

2ml to 3ml per kg of cement

PREPARATION:

Refer to the manufacturer’s recommendations for the exterior use plaster or mortar being used.

MIXING:

1. Shake before use.

2. Add the product to the volume of water recommended for the mix. Use 2ml to 3ml of product per kg of cement.

Note: Do not aerate the mixture by stirring over vigorously or for too long. Accurate measuring is ssential as too much product can weaken the mix - use less product rather than more.

APPLICATION:

Refer to the manufacturer’s recommendations for the exterior use plaster or mortar being used.
