BONDING AGENTS
ROOF & GUTTER REPAIR TAPE .jpg

Cemix Multibond is a reliable primer and admixture used to improve the bond strength of tile adhesives, mortars, screeds, concrete toppings and plasters. It’s ideal for both interior and exterior applications, giving you a strong, durable bond while maintaining flexibility and ease of use. Whether you’re patching, leveling or building up surfaces, Multibond helps ensure your materials adhere securely and perform as intended.

TYPICAL USES:

  • Bonding concrete to concrete (e.g., patching old concrete or adding new layers)

  • Applying screeds or toppings onto existing concrete slabs

  • Fixing pavers, stone, tiles or slate onto concrete

  • Mortar bonding on masonry, brickwork or fibre cement sheeting

  • Plastering over concrete, masonry, timber sheeting or plasterboard

  • Interior and exterior repair jobs where strong adhesion is key

ADVANTAGES:

  • Dual Use (Primer & Admixture): Can be used undiluted as a primer or mixed into cementitious mixes for improved performance.

  • High Bond Strength: Creates a very strong bond, reducing the risk of delamination.

  • Water‑Resistant: Because it’s water-based and resistant, it’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

  • Versatile Substrate Compatibility: Works on concrete, masonry, timber, plasterboard, stone and more.

  • Spray‑Friendly: Can be spray applied for larger volume or commercial jobs.

  • Low Toxicity: Safer to handle for DIYers with less harmful fumes.

COVERAGE:

Varies according to the substrate condition.Approximately 6m² per litre of product.

PREPARATION:

The substrate should be free of dust, grease, wax, oil, dirt, loose plaster, laitance, curing compounds, paint and all other friable materials and contaminants likely to prevent the adhesive bonding. New concrete should be left with a wood float finish and sufficiently aged as per manufacturer’s recommendations. Smooth surfaces on new and old concrete should be scabbled. All substrates should be structurally sound, securely fastened and properly supported to eliminate any movement that may cause cracking. Dampen the substrate with clean water immediately before the application of CEMIX MULTIBOND.

MIXING:

As a Primer:

Use CEMIX MULTIBOND undiluted. No mixing required.

As an Additive:

Refer to the manufacturer’s recommendations for the CEMIX product being used. As a guide, replace 25% to 50% of the mixing water with CEMIX  MULTIBOND.

APPLICATION:

As a Primer:

1. Stir before use.

2. Apply the undiluted product to the substrate with a brush or roller.

3. Two coats may be required on particularly porous substrates. Ensure that the surface is tacky before e-application.

Note: Ensure CEMIX  MULTIBOND is tacky before the subsequent application of another CEMIX  product.

As an Additive:

Refer to the manufacture’s recommendations for the CEMIX product being used.

DRYING & CURING TIME:

As a Primer:

Drying time depends on the substrate, substrate condition, climate, the type of application and the materials being applied. As a guideline, drying time is approximately 20 minutes.
