DESCRIPTION:
CEMIX PAVING SEALER is a water based, penetrating and film forming (hybrid), clear sealer, designed to resist water and stains from paving. When used as a film forming sealer, it produces a matte finish.
TYPICAL USES:
CEMIX PAVING SEALER is ideal for use on pavers. Suitable for use in interior and exterior applications.
ADVANTAGES:
– Ready to use
– Resists water, stains and dirt.
– Minimises efflorescence
– Inhibits mould growth
– UV resistant
– Hybrid sealer: penetrating and film forming
COVERAGE:
Varies according to the substrate condition and climate.
Approximately 5m2 to 14m2 per litre of product, per coat.
PREPARATION:
The substrate should be free of dust, grease, wax, oil, dirt, loose plaster, laitance, curing compounds, paint and all other friable materials and contaminants likely to prevent sealing and coating.
All substrates should be structurally sound, securely fastened and properly supported to eliminate any movement that may cause cracking.
Ideally, CEMIX PAVING SEALER should be applied to new, freshly laid pavers. If applying to existing work, it is recommended to remove any stains, marks, variations etc. from the substrate before application, as the product is likely to magnifiy these.
Ensure that the substrate is dry before application.
Always carry out a small test area to approve look and feel.
APPLICATION:
1. Stir before use.
2. Apply the product generously with a brush, roller or sprayer.
3. Repeat for a second coat.
Ensure a coverage of at least 5m2 per litre, per coat. Further coats may be required for more porous substrates. Allow for a minimum of 4 to 6 hours between coats in a warmer climate, and up to 24 hours in cooler climate. If a more satin finish is preferable, build up coats (as required).
Note: Never apply more product than is being absorbed. If the product pools, brush the excess off. Ensure that there is no rising damp as this will make the sealed surface cloudy in appearance. Over application can make the surface slippery, especially when wet.
DRYING & CURING TIME:
Drying and curing time may vary depending on the substrate and climate. Drying time is approximately 4 hours. Curing time is up to approximately 48 hours.
CLEANING:
Clean tools with water immediately after use.
STORAGE & SHELF LIFE:
Up to 12 months when stored in the original, unopened packaging, in a dry place at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.
LIMITATIONS:
Do not apply if rain is expected within 48 hours.
Not to be used as a waterproofer.
